The Archer School for Girls is seeking a part-time Choir Director / Musical Director. The candidate must be an exceptional accompanist, able to sight read and transpose challenging music and play piano for students during performances. In addition, the candidate must have experience building and directing a choir in a variety of styles, madrigal group and competitive choir as well as extensive experience as a Musical Director for theatre productions.
Responsibilities include middle school and upper school choir, preparing the winter and spring concerts, two musicals, two student recitals and an annual competition trip in the spring. A bachelor’s degree in music is necessary; a master’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter who would like to transform this into a full-time position for the following year, able to inspire students to grow the vocal music program.
