Executive Director, Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus
The Savannah Philharmonic is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual with proven leadership, management, and fundraising skills to be Executive Director for a growing per-service professional orchestra and volunteer auditioned chorus. Responsibilities include all aspects of management and operations, leading a dedicated team of volunteers, and working closely with the Board of Directors and Artistic Director Peter Shannon. Current areas of focus include fundraising, board development, and marketing.
The Savannah Philharmonic is entering its third full season of performing symphonic and choral music in beautiful and historic Savannah, Georgia. We are a professional per-service 50- to 65- member orchestra and an 80-member auditioned volunteer chorus led by internationally renowned conductor Peter Shannon. Our budget has grown from less than $250,000 to over $500,000 in the last three years and we perform six to eight concerts each season, including a fully-staged opera. Our mission is to provide “the highest level of musical performances and education programs . . . to a large and diverse audience in the Greater Savannah community.” The successful candidate must have experience in creative leadership, management, and fundraising. Performing arts management degree and/or experience and a musical background are helpful.

Beginning salary: $50,000.
